[Korean conversation] #07.

[Korean conversation] #07.

Conversation
Dad: Danny, did you search the cars you want to buy?
Danny: Yes. I looked for it on the internet. Father! Look at this. The design is so cool, isn’t it?
Dad: Fuel efficiency of this car is not very good. Also it is inconvenient because it is two-door.
Danny: But I want to buy it because the design is cool. And I like two-door because I alone will ride the car.
Dad: Of course design and brand are important. However, good cars are the ones that are strong and cost less for fuel. How about this car?
Danny: That is awful. I don’t like the color either.
Dad: People say that the car from this company is strong. Do you not like this at all?
Danny: I want to buy the car I picked before.
Dad: Well, then, let’s go to the used car market with me this weekend. It would be better to go and see for ourselves and then decide.

[Korean conversation] #06.

Dad: Joy! What is your plan for the vacation?
Joy: I am thinking of studying Korean and doing some volunteer work during the break.
Dad: Did you find place to go volunteering?
Joy: I visited a few places with Danny, but I haven’t decided yet.
Mom: I heard this from my last catholic church meeting that they will start a special Korean class for Korean Americans from July.
Joy: Will they? I hear it for the first time. What is it?
Mom: People say that they will post details on Korean association homepage.
Joy: Ok. I will look for the information myself.
Dad: How about volunteering for Korean association? I heard that they need people to help with the Sports Day of the Korean association.
Joy: Sounds good. My friend worked there last summer and he said it was fun.

[Korean conversation] #04.

Conversation

Mom: Danny, Joy! I guess you should share a room while your grandmother and grandfather are staying with us.
Danny: OK. I will. They are going to use my room, aren’t they?
Mom: Yes, that’s right. Can you two do a big house clean up today? Especially, Danny, please clean up your closet neatly.
Joy: I see. By the way, how long are they going to stay?
Mom: Probably, they will stay here for two weeks. Why?
Joy: I would like to take them to my school tour. My school is beautiful especially during summer. I think it would be nice to take them (there).
Danny: That is a good idea. Let’s go to your school and also to my school.
Mom: Your grandfather and grandmother will like it very much. I am sure they would want to look around the universities where you are studying time. Darling! By what should we be in the airport the day after tomorrow?

[Korean conversation] #03. 편지1

[Korean conversation] #03.

Dear Danny and Joy,

Hi! It has been a long time.
It is very hot in Korea these days. Is it hot in the States too?
Today I feel like to write a letter to you, so I am writing this instead of making a phone call.
Elder relatives in Korea are doing well, and so are your cousins.
This spring, I had an outing to Gwangwhamun square with your uncle’s family.
I enclosed a few photos as there were some nice photos taken all together in front of the statue of King Sejong.
I wished to go to the States with your grandfather and grandmother, but I feel sorry that I can’t.

Instead I bought and send a popular music album here in Korea and T-shirts designed with Korean letters.
I hope you like them.
Please have good time with your grandfather and grandmother.
Bye.
